7 Wellness Rituals from the Owners
7 wellness rituals from Tasch and Cam
People often ask us what our personal wellness routines look like outside the bathhouse. While they change with the seasons and whatever life throws our way, there are a handful of rituals we come back to again and again.
These are the practices that help us feel our best.
1. Running
Running has long been one of our favourite ways to clear the mind and move the body. Beyond the physical benefits for cardiovascular health, running can help boost mood through the release of endorphins and provide valuable time away from screens and distractions.
Recovery is just as important as the run itself. Pairing exercise with heat and cold therapy can help reduce muscle soreness, improve circulation and support overall recovery.
That's why we created Run Club at Escape Bathhouse. Every Tuesday evening, guests come together for movement, connection and a 60-minute recovery circuit including the sauna, steam room, ice bath and mineral pool...
2. Breathwork
Sometimes the most powerful wellness tool is something we do thousands of times a day without thinking about it.
Slow, intentional breathing helps activate the parasympathetic nervous system, signalling to the body that it's safe to relax. It can reduce stress, calm a busy mind and create a sense of groundedness in just a few minutes.
Whether it's a dedicated breathwork practice or simply taking a few conscious breaths throughout the day, it's a ritual that continually reminds us to slow down.

3. Massage & Body Treatments
Massage remains one of the simplest and most effective ways to support recovery. Beyond easing muscle tension, massage can improve circulation, encourage relaxation and help shift the body into its natural rest-and-digest state. It's often the moment many people realise just how much stress they've been carrying. Making time for treatments isn't indulgent. It's maintenance for both body and mind.
4. A Digital Detox
Modern life rarely gives our brains a moment of quiet. Constant notifications, emails and endless scrolling can leave us feeling mentally overstimulated, even when we're physically resting. That's why we make a conscious effort to regularly disconnect from screens and reconnect with slower, simpler experiences.
Reading a book, spending time in nature, sitting by a fire or simply enjoying uninterrupted conversation can provide the nervous system reset many of us are craving.

5. Heat Therapy
Few things help us unwind quite like heat. Whether it's the sauna or steam room, heat exposure encourages circulation, supports recovery and promotes deep relaxation. It's one of the quickest ways to transition out of a busy day and into a calmer state.
For us, heat therapy is also an opportunity to pause, be present and create space away from the noise of everyday life.
6. Cold Exposure
Cold exposure challenges both the body and the mind. Stepping into an ice bath can help reduce inflammation, improve circulation and build resilience. While the physical benefits are well documented, what keeps us coming back is the mental aspect.
Learning to stay calm in discomfort has a way of carrying over into daily life. Every ice bath is a reminder that we are capable of more than we think.

7. Meaningful Connection
Not all recovery happens alone. Research continues to show that strong social connections play an important role in wellbeing, helping to reduce stress and support long-term health. Some of our favourite moments happen around the bathhouse: conversations between friends at the Placebo Bar or during Live Music Fridays.

Wellness isn't about doing everything perfectly. It's about finding simple rituals that help you feel grounded, energised and connected.
These are the practices we keep coming back to, and the ones that inspired many of the experiences you'll find at Escape Bathhouse and Sierra Escape.
